Ulead VS 11 Plus is not capturing high definition(HDV) video from my Sony HVR-Z1U. The following message is displayed "Unable to switch to capture mode. Check if your video capture is working properly". My video card (Hauppauge Win TV 150) is working ok as I am able to capture the HD video with the software from Nero Vision. I am using the firewire port.
I am using in my PC the following:
-Windows Vista Ultimate
-Intel Core 2 CPU 2.66 GH
-Memory Ram 2MB
-32 bit oper system
-Nvidia card 8800
Notwithstanding this, I am able to capture video in the HV mode from my Sony HVR-Z1U
Can it be that this camcorder is not compatible with Ulead VS 11 Plus?
Thanks for your promt reply.

I have the full version. The strange thing is that it recognizes the camera showing its name but can not do the capture . It shows the previously mention error.etech6355 wrote:If you using the trial is doesn't work on Vista, the retail version with the patches installed allows me to capture from my Sony HC3 High Definition cam (HDV Video).

Re: Sony camcorder HDV HVR-Z1U not capturing
Could you not simply capture it with Nero and once it is on your hard drive import it to VideoStudio? In fact I capture my recordings with MediaStudio even when I am going to edit with VideoStudio because MediaStudio has more options. Don't be afraid to use whatever tools you have available, there is no need to rigidly stick to one program. I often use several just for one project.pep11 wrote:..... As a matter of fact, that is what I am doing. I capture with Nero and do the rest with Video Studio. What I would like to find out is why I can not capture with Ulead VS. I can do it in Ulead VS in DV but not in HDV. Why?????sjj1805 wrote:Could you not simply capture it with Nero and once it is on your hard drive import it to VideoStudio?
