Videostudio 11 plus crashes at first screen
I am having the same problem with no luck fixing it so far. I have searched the FAQ and found nothing. Did you have any luck or has anyone else had this problem?
I have a Windows XP 32 bit with SP2
1 gig hz athlon with a gig Ram.
All drivers are updated along with DirectX.
When i open the program it hangs at the splash screen then gives the same error.
1. I tried doing the manual uninstall and then a reinstallation
2. another full uninstallation, then ran the hotfix, readded VS11. still did not work. Then added the Patch with no luck still.
I just bought this program and the windows XP install was recently rebuilt a couple of months ago.

Did you have an error concerning AVControl SDK while installing? If not why did you install the hotfix? That is specifically targeted for that problem.
When you are attempting to run VS, have you tried shutting down all unnecessary background applications? It would seem that a 1gHz processor is on the shallow end of things for VS.
You might want to review Steve's tutorial on Creating a Video Editing Profile.

The only thing we know is that you run Windows XP64... Please complete your System Information in your profile. Clicking on this button -->
will take you to a short tutorial, explaining how to find and complete that information. This way it will always be available, and will save you from retyping it in the future.

I tried that hotfix because It was the only thing i had not tried at that point. AFter the non successes i rolled back my Winxp to before i started the installation so everything is back to the starting point.
I have turned off all background services that are not required. i checked my task manager and though the cpu pegs when i first click the icon it goes down quickly when the program starts trying to load. Below is what i found in the event viewer for the error. It is regarding a uipp.dll error.
Faulting application vstudio.exe, version 11.0.0.0, faulting module uipp.dll, version 0.9.0.0, fault address 0x00191846.
Thanks for the quick reply.

I don't know why it's crashing on that driver file. I've done some searching and found that on my system I have 12 instances of that file, of course I have numerous Ulead applications installed. What's curious is that the file size for that dll file under VS10+ and VS11+ are dramatically different. For VS10+ the file size is 2184KB, for VS11+ it's 4170KBs.
First uipp.dll is an Intel Dynamic Link Library. What it's function is with VS I don't know. Anyway looking at the properties for this DLL file lead me to this Intel Web Page. It explains about the Intel IPP Custom DLL.
Sorry I can't be of much more help. One other person had the very same issue not to long ago. The only thing that comes to mind is a corrupt file, which requires reinstalling to fix.

Found a solution?
Dear dudenator and chadp
Did you find a solution for the chrashing of VideoStudio11?
I have the same problem. I can get to the start up screen to choose one of the 3 programs in VS11 plus, but when it tries to load, it chrashes and WIndows gives me a standard error message!
Please tell me if you have found a solution?
