Can not burn iso

Post by PZJM »

Hey folks, I am new to this forum but not to the video editing world. I have been using ROXIO for some time and finally got sick of all the problems. I started testing COREL and things seemed rather stable. However, after making a movie and encoding to and ISO, I am unable to burn it to disk. I start up the ULEAD Image Burner and then select My Computer. Nothing shows up in the dialog box. I can't see any of my drives. However, if I select desktop or my documents I can see folders and files. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I know the easiest fix is to move the ISO to my desktop or My Documents. Heck, I could even use a free 3rd party burner but thats not the point. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. By the way, I removed Real Player because I found no use for it. I really don't suspect this could be the problem but you never know.

I know this isn't the answer you are looking for, but until someone comes up with one I'll chime in with my 2 cents.

If you are not new to video editing then you know it is all about work-arounds. On this forum you'll find all kinds of work-arounds for various problems. Not everthing works as it should for everybody. Just seems to be fact in this wacky world of computers. :?

Now to what is the point. The point is burning your ISO to DVD. Seems the simplest thing to do is move your ISO to your desktop, My Documents, or wherever VS can see it.

In other words, there's more than one way to skin a cat, and sometimes you have to use the alternative. 8)

Is the Ulead burning program the only one affected in this way? You might try downloading IMGBurn and using that instead, see if that works.

Yeah, this is the only program affected. I know of the work around but I was hoping that it would be a quick fix. Apparently not. Most likely I will use IMGBurn because I have numerous ISO's from previous video editing software applications.

Thanks...
