Can't save trimmed AVCHD clips

The option to save trimmed clips is grayed out when I modify an AVCHD video, but is not grayed out and works just fine when I am editing MPEG4 files.

I am using version 11.5.0157.2 Plus with the digital power pack, have downloaded/installed all updates, as well.

The fact that the button appears with the MPEG4 files and is grayed out for the AVCHD file (directly imported from a Sony HDR-SR7 using Ulead's importing option) tells me this option simply isn't supported for AVCHD.

I contacted tech support and their only advice was to visit the download page and make certain I had installed all of the available updates (though I hadn't mentioned that I had already done that, a quick 2-minute experiment on their end with an AVCHD file should have revealed the exact same result).

Though this isn't a "deal breaker", it would be great to be able to use a feature that clearly is available for other formats.

Any suggestions (or even a simple confirmation that this either isn't available or that others find the same result) are most welcome.
