I had a hard drive crash recently. Fortunately my files were backed up.
After replacing the drive and restoring the info, when opening a Ulead project file I had created before I get the message: "The menu template used in your project file does not exist....". The soundtrack for the menu is gone also.
The slides and soundtrack for the slideshow section are OK.
a) How can retrieve the original settings and content of the menu?
b) How can I save a Ulead file in a way that nothing is lost when something major happens to my computer in the future?

The menus and templates should have been installed when you re-installed after your crash. This is provided you installed everything. I don't use CD/DVD PS, so I'm not 100% sure, but like other Ulead/Corel products, there are more than one download files to install. Generally the content (menus, templates, images, and audio) are installed with the 2nd file.
It your video/images were preserved, then you done well. Saving project files and clips being used in the project on a separate HDD is the best practice (unless that HDD crashes)
. Then once you're back up and running, you only need to re-link the project to those clips.
