Rearranging clips on the storyboard

Post by imadisneygal »

Hello,

I am looking to see if there is another way to rearrange clips once they are on the story board other than drag and drop? Is there a way to assign a new clip number and move the clip without having to pick it up and wait for the storyboard to scroll to the new number? Thanks!

Once they are on the storyboard, or timeline, the only way to rearrange is to drag and drop.

However, in the library you can rename the thumbnails and you can sort them by name or date. So you could rename and/or sort them, select them, and drag them to the timeline.

Also, you don't have to rename the clip in order to move it, if that is what you are asking (they don't have to be in numerical order - that's why it's non-linear editing).

Also in Storyboard mode, you can expand the storyboard, by clicking on the up arrow, located on the far top left of the Storyboard. This will make it easier to reposition clips.
