Corrupt Thread?

Post by GeorgeC »

I'm not sure but the thread I started
DVD *.iso playback occupies small section of player window?
is now causing a crash. Maybe a moderator/administrator can fix?
Regards,
George

(edit) I see it has been "locked"?

No sorry we don't have a means for correcting that. It takes a Rep from Corel to access the server to repair the post.

This is caused from improper posting of links (URL). If you're not familiar with how to post them please read this: http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/faq.php?mode=bbcode

When posting, you notice the buttons below the Subject line (B,i,u Quote), those will insert the proper BBCode. Please use the "URL" when inserting links.

Thanks vidoman. I did use the url function but something went amiss obviously.

Essentially what I said is I used the guidance given by "takeoneflix" and this was DaemonTools to run an iso file. I also have tried VCL.

I mounted the ISO file using Daemon and then ran Media Player or RealPlayer etc. but the replay was a quarter+/- of the screen.

Ah... and I was the next person to answer the original query. I had nothing of substance to add, but I did ask which software players -- since you mentioned more than one, though without names -- you used to play the ISO back. But I now see that in fact you mounted it and then played it that way... Never thought of that...

My original problem still exists. If I try to play any dvd back through Media Player the video only occupies about 25% of the available screen. I know this is a VS forum but was hoping a "guru" might know :)

Have you checked the wmp settings to ensure they are set to play at full size?

Have you tried to extract the iso to a hard drive folder and then play it?
I don't have daemon tools so do not know if it includes an extract option (as opposed to mount) if it does not then here is a link to some free tools that will extract an iso

I don't have Daemon tools but mounting both a DVD ISO and a 720p DivX ISO with CloneCD gives no problems playing back in Media Player Classic.

Hi Steve, I've tried the iso file and the final DVD in my drive, all to no avail. Same with commercial dvd's. So it's obviously a WMP/XP issue. The available screen size is correct but the replay occupies only 25% of the screen area inside WMP.

Thanks again for your comments.

You might try reinstalling WMP, and see if that corrects it. You might also try the free Windows Media Player Classic. I use it quite a bit. Works great. If the DVD plays as it should in it, then you'll know that your WMP is messed up..

Vidoman,
I had WMP 11so then uninstalled and ran WMP10 no difference in either so I'm guessing WMP Classic may not work either but I'll try.

I appreciate your feedback.

There is quite a lengthy web page dealing with an extensive range of WMP problems and fixes here, don't know if it will help but worth a look.
