Simple question deserves simple answer - mp4

I have ulead 8SE. What plug in, add on, freeware etc. do I need so I can edit mp4 movies? I can download the mp4 from my camera to the PC, but 8se will not read the mp4 file

Sorry about the Pinnacle error in last post. I use both Pinnacle and ulead.
