I have a Panasonic DVD RV-32 DVD player, and it can't handle a DVD-R burned by VS8. We've created two DVD-Rs from two different projects, and it skips, locks up, and distorts the picture.
Has anyone found a DVD player for less than $100 that can play a DVD-R burned by VS8 flawlessly?
Thanks,
GlennG
DVD players that can handle VS8's DVD-Rs

Yes most certainly - the vast majority of DVD players will play a DVD-R created in UVS8, as to below $100 - it is a very strange fact of life that the cheaper DVD players seem to cope much better with domestically produced DVDs than the more expensive ones do.
Have you considered that the inability to play your DVDs may be due to an error in the way you have produced them, if you could tell us exactly what you did and what are the properties of the files on your DVD we may be able to help you.

I set the capture settings to DVD, as the directed in the NEW USERS PLEASE READ THIS FIRST link. The settings are:
NTSC drop frame(29.97 fps)
MPEG 2
24 bits, 720x480, 29.97 fps
upper field first(I have an analog camcorder)
DVD-NTSC; 4:3
video data rate: variable(max 8000 kbps)
audio data rate: 224 kbps
MPEG audio, 48 Khz, stereo
I basically captured the video, and it was saved as a MPEG 2 file. Then I slightly edited it(cut out about 2 seconds in the beginning), and went to the SHARE tab, clicked CREATE DISK, ADD VIDEO(found the MPEG 2 file), created the menu, previewed it, and burned it on the LiteOn 832s burner.
The DVD plays crystal clear on the PC, but has problems on the Panasonic DVD player. I've read on the internet that others seem to have problems with some Panasonic players reading DVD-R media. I'm going to try playing it on another brand of DVD player to see what it does.
Thanks,
GlennG
