trouble creating audio dvds

Post by glhere »

Using MovieFactory 3.5 I have been unable to create an audio DVD. On each of 4 tries (trying different audio formats) the software indicates the writing is finished but the burner keeps whirring. The system report is that the (Ulead) software is >waiting for a response<, but no popup ever appears (as under normal conditions). Ergo, I have to turn off the burner to get whatever is happening to stop. DVD is never verified/is wasted.

procedure:
mp3 files tried first (duh -- didn't see the mp3 burner option)
mp3 files converted to .wav files
movie factory choice of audio DVD chosen

Note:
1. These (same) .wav files do burn to disk and work with no problems when using iDVD (tried this on a MAC)

2. I can burn other type DVDs and CDs with my burner (using same ulead moviefactory software app) -- there seems to be no problem there.

Some info:
DVD+R (Verbatim) disks
Win 2K professional
Pioneer DVD-RW DVR109
Ulead Movie Factory 3.5

I just want to get my audio files to play with no fussing on someone's dvd-cd player...

I just >updated< the Ulead software with a 2005 update I found on the Ulead site. Will try one more time -- but would like to hear if anyone knows about this.

Thanks in advance for any info :)

creating audio disks

sjj1805,
I feel sort of foolish -- did see the posting you referred to (writing at 4x) while checking out this forum, but am glad you mentioned it as I may not have tried it -- the burn at 4x actually worked (that is, bet it was the 4x, not the patch. Thanks. Much appreciate.

even at 4x DVD ulead again not working

Post by glhere »

this post references the previous posts in that I am still having trouble, even at (speed of) 4x, burning DVDs. The burn hangs: even tho the Movie Factory 3.5 software info indicates 100% burn completed the writer keeps spinning. The PC task manager indicates the program is expecting >user input<.

as indicated in previous posting the ulead DVD program worked when burning an audio disk at (speed of) 4x (the program was updated recently as (also) indicated in the previous posting).

However, while using movie factory 3.5's menu to burn a .iso file to a DVD (at 4x) once again it is a no-go

Is burning a .iso yet another problem?

In movie factory3.5 the slowest speed seems to be 4x...

Tho I am using a popular brand of DVD, is it worth considering this could be a problem with the Brand of DVD? I have previously used Pioneer DVDs and never once had a problem...

Note: I again looked around the forum for more info on burning .iso files but have not as yet found any seemingly relevant info (other than using slow burn speeds)

Thanks, once again, for any info...
