Speed Quality Slider

Post by GeorgeW »

if you need something "fast", move it towards "speed", if you want better quality, move it towards "quality"

It's how the encoder will convert your source video. If speed is your priority, the encoder won't spend too much time analyzing while encoding your video. You get your output faster, but it might not be the best quality. If "quality" is more important, then moving the slider towards "quality" will allow the encoder to take more time to analyze your video for compression (motion search...). It will take longer to encode, but your results should be better.

It also depends on your source video (what type it is, how clean it is, etc...). So adjusting the slider will be a personal thing for you to decide what is the best combination of speed and quality...

I Believe In Quality Than Quantity

Thanks.
I think I will move it to the end (100%). I'd rather spend more time to get the best quality I can since the discs I write are to be kept "forever".
Thanks again for you info.
