I THINK I have tried the steps users gave at the forum.
I still have issues on re-rendering. Let me explain my steps.
OPEN PROJECT
-Two video Files and an image file in the TIMELINE. (1 hour 4 minutes)
SHARE
-Create Disc
CREATE DISC window
-Output Disc format – DVD
-Create Menus – Checked
PROJECT SETTINGS
-Change MPEG Settings (Selected settings)
-Do not convert compliant MPEG file – CHECKED
RECORD WINDOW
-Volume name - Entered
-Record to disc – Checked
-Create Folders & Image Files – Unchecked
OUTPUT
-(Still, Do not convert compliant MPEG file – UNCHECKED)
When ready to write to disc, the warning comes up:
THIS ACTION WILL TAKE SOME TIME TO RENDER.
DO YOU WANT TO CONTINUE?
I tried the same above settings with a 22minutes project, still it gave me the warning about rendering time. I just want to write to the disc straight.
When I try to write to the drive first, it took six and half hours with a 1GB ram, and 2.53MHz board.
What am I dong wrong with the trial version?
Thanks everyone in advance

Firstly (and secondly and thirdly) - rendering takes time.
I would take issue with the first process, when you open a project, containing two video files and an image. If this is, as I suspect, a .vsp (project) file, it is not a video file at all; rather a series of notes detailing what clips etc you want to use - these clips are on your hard drive. They cannot be used sensibly until they are combined into a coherent video file.
The recommendation from users is that you first go to SHARE - CREATE VIDEO FILE. This takes a while; the computer pulls all the data from sources referred to in the vsp file, and creates a single file.
Next, you can load this single file in the timeline or the burning module. If it is an avi file (this is how I operate) transcoding to mpeg2 format and burning to disc does take time, and that message appears. Generally expect about three times the length of the video.
What you are trying to do is the whole lot in one go - good luck that it works! Many here have found that the process falls over if the computer is given that many tasks at once.

Actually, I Use MPG
Thanks RWINDEYER, I capture straight to MPG format with my capture card, so I don't have to go through the rendering proccess again. In VS I work with MPG files unless I am using files from Cool3D which is AVI and are very small clips.
I just finished writing the ISO file on my drive. When I checked the drive, I found three folders, the VIDEO_TS and one other I can't remember, and the third a CONVERT folder. But when I logged went back to that drive, the first two were gone.
My question is, why the CONVERT folder is I have the ISO file already on my drive? When writing the DVD, I only need the ISO file and not the MPG file in the CONVERT folder.
Thanks for your help and wonderful info

just an FYI, that message appears everytime you hit the "output" button from the disc burining phase. Does VS actually go through the re-rendering process or are you quitting after you see the message?
