Unable to select HD DVD Template
In the "disk template manager" I am unable to change the disk template to HD DVD, or any other template for that matter. What am I doing wrong? I want to burn a HD DVD.

Welcome to the forum. You don't tell us which version of Video Studio you are using. If it is the trial version of VS11, then I think that comes with only one template for testing purposes...
Otherwise, if you have actually bought the full version, have you fully installed all the necessary components? If you have a download version, the templates are all in the second file you should have downloaded (Extra_Content). If you have the boxed CD version, they are on CD2.

Thank you, for the quick response. I have the trial version (downloaded from the Ulead site) of VS 11plus, and will purchase the full version if this template option and others is available. I did not read any where that the demo does not have all the features.

No, they don't seem to advertise what is, or is not included. You get pretty full functionality. But you don't get all the templates, and I am pretty sure that, for licensing reasons, you don't get Dolby. The other downside is that you get VS11+ as it originally was, warts and all. It is a much better product with the two major updates (6 and 8 November 2007), but as far as I am aware, they have not included and of the fixes or new features in the trial version, and the patches certainly can't be applied to the trial version.
But you will most certainly get a pretty wide selection of menu templates, including HD ones, in the full version.

VS11+ trial and VS11+ retail "Disc Template Manager" will NOT allow you to directly make a HD-DVD template with Dolby Audio.
(Well.....there are some tricks)
You can do this in the Burning Module.
"Share -> Create Disk"
If your source is HDV video as recorded on the source tape you can make a Standard HDV template to match HDV tape settings by (in the template manager) specifying:
MPEG2 as the compression format.
Video Bit Rate = Constant 25000kbs
Mpeg Audio, Stereo @ 384kbs.
Then go to the other tabs:
FrameSize = 1440x1080
Frames per second = 25/29.97
Fielding = Upper Field First
Also Make your project settings equal to the above.
