Rendered file is not as previewed

Post by Paul G »

I modified the file of the spinning globe & then went to render it out as a video file a file was created. When the video is played I find that the the entire background, the star field is missing & has been replaced with a solid black background. As the title comes around the earth I find that the title has a wide blue band surrounding it which changes shape as the video plays. It appears that the blue I'm seeing is very wide band which surrounds the globes title. If I go back to the time line view & click about half way through the file I can see from the preview that nothing seems amiss. Have I some how turned of the background & perhaps rendered it out as an overlays that is if it's possible to have an AVI with a transparent background.
Thanks in advance

Sounds like you rendered the file as 32 bit RGB avi. This saves file with alpha channel and makes the background transparent, great for overlays in non-linear editing. To keep the background render as 24 bit avi.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that info. I can't recall changing any settings in this area. I was unaware that there were different sorts of avi's, some of which had alpha channels.
Thanks in advance
