Exiting VS11

Post by bkersh1 »

Does anyone else receive an error message when they exit out of the program. I assume i am exiting properly, i save the project and go file exit. I will then get a Ulead VideoStudio message that the program has encountered a problem and needs to close, etc.....

Any suggestions?

Yes I've seen this error a couple of times. I don't know what's causing it, as I can go back to the same things, and not get the error. Unless it starts occurring regularly I'm choosing to ignore it.

I get it as well. More than a few times but I've learned to ignore it.

I have gotten this message several times since upgrading to VS11+. I too just ignore it.

I also discovered that if I clear the timeline by selecting New Project before I exit, it does not happen as much.

This same topic, albeit regarding v10, has been discussed at great length in this thread: http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=28251

VS 11 Crashes: More Details

Post by johnmillspa »

I get "encountered an error and must close..." crash about half the time. It doesn't seem to bother anything as it seems to happen only when I exit and I've already saved my application data. I can ignore it, as others here have been doing, but I thought the information Windows XP writes to the Event log might be meaningful to someone? Anyway, here it is:

Faulting application vstudio.exe, version 11.0.0.0, faulting module ulppmgr.dll, version 8.0.0.0, fault address 0x000022eb.

If you think this might be useful to the Corel folks, let me know and I'll submit it. It is quite annoying to see this "crash" msg all the time (on the other hand it inspires me to save frequently

I read on another thread that after saving their project they choose New Project to empty the timeline, then close VS, and they don't get the error. I've tried it a couple of times and it works.

Not only have I also experienced this same problem, but I'll find that VS is still running (by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL and going to the Processes tab) even though the program has exited. Also, the amount of memory it's using is sometimes pretty high. There's gremlins in that program I tell ya!
