I bought Photo Explosion by Nova Development and I was happy to see that it had Photo Explorer 8.0 as bonus software. Having used the free version of PE I knew that I was going to like it overall. But, I have ONE issue that I can't figure out. I want to resize photos but I can't seem to do it in PE with the right dimensions. I have screencaps that are taken at 720 x 480 and I can't change the size they are taken at. I want to change them to 320 x 240. When I try to "convert" them in PE 8.0, I can't get the size I want. When I go and type in 320 in the box next to where it says "Resample Image Size" I get a picture of 320 x 213 which looks all squished to me.
Is there a way to get the pictures converted to the size I want? Or am I screwed? Right now I'm using a different program to resize my pics because I can't get PE to work.

I think your eyes are playing tricks on you, that would be the correct size to maintain aspect. I don't know what the limitation are on PE but if there's a checkbox there that says "Keep Aspect Ratio" uncheck it and you can adjust height and width independent of each other.
If your using this image for a printing project try adjusting the resolution instead, that will mainatain quality but give it a smaller default size to print at.

Can you take a look at this screen capture? It's the box I get when I go to convert something. I see nothing that says "keep aspect ratio". I only have one choice to resample the image to. When I put 320 into that box, it comes up as a 320 x 213 size which I don't want. I'm wondering if this version is limited.. it doesn't seem to be in any other way. So in the version right from Ulead you have a "keep aspect ratio" box and can change the size as you want??

I'm not familiar with PE at all, how you would do it if it was available. I use Photoimpact which has that feature as do many other image editing apps. So whether you have a limited version or if the full version has that limitation I have no idea.papayakiller wrote: I'm wondering if this version is limited.. it doesn't seem to be in any other way. You might be able to work around it using the crop feature, I see there is a aspect ratio box next to it.
