MF uses wrong duration for video

Post by Dobs »

I have a video file that for some reason in MF6+ thinks is only about 10 seconds long, even though the video is about an hour in length. In MF, it displays the duration as 10 seconds, if I play the video in MF, the slider will quickly go to the end of the timeline, but the video will continue playing. However, because MF thinks it is only a 10 second clip, that is all it allows me to burn or edit. It plays just fine in WinDVD (slider and all). I am pretty sure it is a problem with the video itself and not MF (it came from my Haupauage 1600 ATSC tuner which seems to screw up the video headers on occasion) and MF doesn't have this problem with other equivalent videos (even from the same tuner). My question is, does anyone know of any good software I can use to fix it? I tried the "Quick Stream Fix" in VideoReDo, and that kind of worked, but the corrected video only contains the first 15 minutes (maybe this is a limitation of the trial version?).

Fixed...kinda

I got VideoReDo working. I had to request a trial key. Then it fixed the entire video. However, when I went to burn it in MF, it got stuck at 55% while rendoring (the CPU was still chugging away, but the progress didn't move for 20+ minutes). I haven't had much of a chance to play around with it since then, so I don't know if there are still issues with the video or what.
