i was able to install the trial download and access the program 2 times. After that, the program will NOT open.
If I double click the desktop shortcut icon, the hourglass comes up, then goes away and the program never opens.
I've tried the repair, deleting the ulead registry keys, and a fresh install, but it won't open.
Any ideas?

Hey welcome back,
Lots of changes have occurred in the last two years..
Don't know what flavor of OS you're running, XP or Vista? However DEP causes this...
For WinXP:
To Exempt a program from DEP do the following:
1. Right-click on My Computer and Select Properties
2. In the System Properties dialogue that opens click on the Advance Tab.
3. Click on the Settings button for Performance.
4. In the Performance Options, click on the 3rd tab, Data Execution Prevention.
5. Click the radio button for Turn on DEP for all.....
6. Click on the Add button, a window will open that you can navigate to where the executable file for VS, MSP, PI or whatever program you're having problems with, is located. Generally this is found under C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\. However you may have it installed to some other location on your system.
7. Once you have found it, click on it to add it to the execeptions list.
Now if DEP was preventing your program from launching that should take care of it.

How do you know you like the program if you can't open it?
We need to have more details on your system before anyone could even have a guess at a possible solution.
Did you check the system requirements at the download pages and does your system comply with these requirements? What is your screen resolution?

You might try changing the acceleration settings on your graphics card. You can do that by right clicking on your wallpaper and choosing properties and then settings. Graphics cards can sometimes cause problems because not enough memory has been allocated to the task. This probably isn't it, but it at least gives you something to try.

I was able to use it 2 times before all this happened. The program actually did open twice. Now it won't.
As for my system meeting the requirements, it does.
I have Windows XP Home SP2, 1 Gig of Ram, AMD 2.24 ghz processor.
I think something is corrupted, however. If I uninstall the program, my HP flat bed scanner turns on!
