Audio Loss When Rotating

Audio Loss When Rotating
When I rotate video 90 degrees or more I loose audio. I have tried to fade in and out, but no luck. I also tried setting audio to 101 or 99 and still no luck. Any suggestions?

Well let's back up a bit. We need some more information in order to provide some meaningful help.

Sorry for the short answer on the last post. . I've been using UVS since version 4. Upgraded to 7 when it came out. Just upgraded to 11 for the 5.1 and video rotate & reverse FX.
The manual doesn't offer any help on splitting audio and I've tried searching here, but the search function isn't too good.

You still didn't provide any info, such as the properties of the clip or project, ect.

I just put a 20 minute PAL mpeg-2 (Upper Field First, Variable bitrate max. 9000, 16:9, mpeg layer 2 audio) into the VS11.5+ timeline. I clicked to turn it 90 degrees clockwise, which it did. Then still on the edit page, I clicked on Split Audio, and the entire sound track appeared below on one of the audio tracks. I could also then go to Share and choose Create Sound File of that sound track if I wanted to.
In other words, it seems to work with a standard mpeg-2 file. So we really do need to know the properties of the file you are having trouble with. Right click on it in either the timeline or in the library pane, and copy all its Properties to here please...

I can also confirm it works with DV-AVI files from a camcorder.Ken Berry wrote:I just put a 20 minute PAL mpeg-2 (Upper Field First, Variable bitrate max. 9000, 16:9, mpeg layer 2 audio) into the VS11.5+ timeline. Sorry again. It's an AVI from a mini DV recorded on an SD card. I tried converting it to different file types w/o rotating it, but still no luck. I have tested another AVI captured from a Digital 8 camcorder & it works fine. Maybe it's the compression of the audio?
A little info about what I'm doing: It's an RC plane flight and the camera is mounted upside down so that's why I'm rotating it. It's a USB mini 5 in 1DV camera. There's not too many specs listed and nothing about the audio.
Image res: 640x 480 VGA
Frame rate 10 or 20 fps

So it's a what??? (avi) is just a container, not an actual format, unless it is the original raw uncompressed format, which you could not squeeze but about 1 min on an SD card.
So I'm going to guess that you've got either DivX or MPEG-4, both are very highly compressed, and the latter is being used more and more by camcorders and digital cameras.
Did you try splitting the audio off before rotating?
You should be able to see the audio properties when you right-click on the video clip, or audio if it is split, and selecting properties. It's probably a QuickTime (MOV) video format too..
For converting your video from one format to almost any other, try SUPER. It can convert DivX, Xvid or even MPEG4 files.

What version of VideoStudio? If it's VS11+, have you downloaded and installed the Update, and the Power Pack?
http://www.ulead.com/tech/vs/vs_ftp.htm
Ignore the Hot Fix, since you apparently did not have an installation problem. Just download and install the Update first. Then install the Power Pack second.
Also you need to make sure you are matching the Project Properties (File>Project Properties) to your source video clip's properties. You should have the MJPEG codec on your system.
The audio PCM (pulse code modulation) is an uncompressed audio format. VS should be able to handle it without problems. When you open the Project Properties select AVI as the Edit file format type. You'll only have 2 options in the drop-down (AVI or MPEG).
Then press the Edit button, go to the AVI tab. For the Compression locate the MJPEG Compressor. Then in the Audio match that of the PCM audio properties that you posted, which is PCM, 8.000kHz, 8 bit Mono.
Now on the General tab match the Frame Size (320 x 240) and the Frame Type (Frame Based), then finally the Frame Rate (25fps).
I have some short clips from my digital still camera that use the same Codec, and VS has no problems splitting the audio, and keeping it if I choose to rotate the video.
