turning random video of family events into a video

Post by mi2nc »

I am looking for ideas on how to amalgamate several family videos into a presentable video. I am the kinda guy that if you give me the title to and maybe a couple ideas on the chapters, I can write a novel.

The creative block!

A flat white with a dash of Irish Baily's almosts does it for me.

Put them all on the timeline in any order you like.

Watch it without interruptions the whole way through.

Bits will start to fall into place or order but at this stage do not be tempted to stop watching.

You now have a bit of an idea of one over all theme or feel or perhaps you noticed that instead of one long video....perhps 2-3 shorter ones would fit in better.

Watch it again this time stop when ever you feel appropriate or perhaps even re-order all the cut videos in the library into groups or themes.

in between each scene/theme/group you can break it up with some appropriate well known quotes you can find by theme on the web....just to add some humour. Make up your own quotes...or use voice only grabs from something coming up in the next bit and if you are watching in a group you can all try and guess who said it and in which context. LOL!

ok I'm weird...

Make certain events, such as birthdays, holidays, and vacations, into their own separate chapters.

Not to overuse this style, but pick a theme (cute expressions or gestures, child growing up, series of parties, ???) then grab several short segments, 1 to 5 seconds long, paste into a fast-moving 2-minute series, add peppy music.
