capturing from VCR

I got this DVD MovieFactory program with a TV tuner card I recently purchased. I'm wondering if I am able to capture video off of a VCR in order to take old home movies on VHS and put them on DVD. Of course I get the no driver error if I go into the capture screen. Can this be done? Thanks in advance.

Yes it can, under certain circumstances, once we know your set up maybe we can help.

Of course, you might get all sorts of error messages if we were to suggest something blindly.

The tv tuner card that this program came with is a Hauppauge wintv hvr 1600. I'm running a e-geforce 7600gs nvidia graphics card. CPU is a intel core 2 duo e6750 and im running windows XP with SP2. Even if I were to get the video to capture after I was thinking about it i still have no way to get the audio to copy over too. both my graphics card and tv tuner card have an S video input with an adapter to accept a normal video cable. anymore additional info you need to know on my setup let me know.
