I tried to export but it doesn't seem to work. I have burned a video to DVD successfully, but want to back up a movie to my hard drive.

Can I save a whole video I've created to my hard drive in Movie Factory 5.6?

Only persons that purchase the Canon HG10 have access to that program, so only they (or you) can answer your question.
In the Retail version of MF you do this using the export feature.
In any version you can always burn a disk of your movie / project, then copy the disks contents back to your local harddisk. Depending on the dvd/disk format you may need to running Vista to do this.

Upgrade to 6?
OK, thanks for your help. I have wondered if I should upgrade the program or go to another program altogether. It's too bad they don't give you a fully functioning program when you spend $1200 on a camcorder (by the way, down $300 a few weeks after I purchased!)
