Hangs at 0 percent

Post by sicilian »

Sorry, guys
I have searched and searched the forums, but haven't had any luck.
So, let's get right to the problem

I have created a 30 sec video clip as a motion menu to import to Movie Factory. As you could imagine, I have used several short clips with transitions and a few titles to make the clip interesting. The project plays fine inside of VideoStudio. However, when I go to create video file the program hangs up at 0 percent. I have let the program run for several minutes hoping that it would work itself out, but I finally have to ctrl+alt+delete to close the program. I have successfully created a video file of just the clips w/o all of the transitions and text. So, I worked with the new file, and then added the transitions, but it still hangs up like before. I have also tried rendering the file in different formats.

Using VideoStudio 11 plus, Window XP SP2

Let me know what further info is required to answer.

Thanks

Well, for a start, it would certainly help to know the properties of the video clips you used in the project, and exactly which transitions you used. And what format/properties were using for the output video?

From a longer term perspective, it would also be useful if you filled out the information in the System button...

What format are your original video files? (The more compressed formats tend to cause the most trouble.)

(The Read This First... post at the top of the forum tells you what we need to know in order to get started.)

video clips were NTSC DVD mpeg-2 4100kbps (compressed using 3rd party program), 4:3, 720*480 audio streams were removed. started by adding about 5 or 6 second clips - about 5 clips totaling 30secs
rendered by choosing 'same as first video clip' and also tried several other formats

used several different transitions in several different attempts to solve the problem
some of them included: whirlpool, crossfade, flying flip, mask, mask B

- filled out known system info - will do more research and get further info
