Disk space problem

Post by Mandy Reid »

Hi. I would be very grateful if someone could explain to me why at the finish screen display of Movie Factory 3 SE burning disk target total progress 82% tells me I have not got enough disk space when I insert a new disk and the required and available disk space advises 3.27 GB/disk 4.38 GB.
Many thanks
Mandy

Have you applied the patches?
Misrepresented sizes of projects was a problem addressed in one of the patches.

You may not have enough space on your disk - there are some very large temporary files created by MF.

And by disk space it means ..the hard disk....not the dvd you are trying to create.

I found that a copy was made of each mpg that was not dvd compliant and not deleted. That can eat up some disk space fast.

Mine was under a folder called DMF_Temp or Convert

Create a new folder

If you have another hard drive, create a DMF Folder on it, and then create a subfolder for each new project. Then before starting each new project, change the preferences to point to the new DMF/Subfolder -- this will help you organize all your temp files, and let you quickly see what's getting created during the build process
