Tech support. Don't ya love 'em?In my most recent conversation with ADS tech support, I was told that the documentation is neither accurate nor complete.
...This confirms the "try various combinations of the switches until you find one that works" advice from ADS.

Hi
Just a few thoughts
I do not have VS 11, but it should be similar to 10.
The timer at the top represents the capture time.
As you comment this timer can be set to capture a particular duration.
By setting to 0-00-00-00. capture continues until you press ¡¥stop capture¡¦
(In the case of a Mini-DV camcorder)
The lower timer should indicate the time-code.
This is the code generated in the camera during recording. The time-code should be complete, without pauses from zero to one hour. If not the capture would terminate when VS recognises NO tine-code.
You are using the Pyro box in a similar way to a camcorder through-put, connected via firewire.
The time code being generated by the Pyro box.
The question is; can you capture without input to the Pyro, or do you need an input?
If you do need an input then a poor quality 8mm tape may be the cause of capture termination. It may be that you are intermittently loosing the input signal.

Actually there is a difference, VS11+ uses a completely different method for capturing. It's much more improved for capturing High Definition HDV video, but others now have problems in some other areas.I do not have VS 11, but it should be similar to 10.
In VS11+ when or if you try to change the capture plugin there is only 1 plugin that's listed. VS11+ is using a different capturing method.
VS11+ and MF6+ both use this newer capturing method/module.
In VS11+ or MF6+ with the updates I have no problems capturing DV, HDV or analog from a Hauppauge PVR 150 capture card.
