Library (sub)Folders - Tree Control

Post by wbusselle »

I was expecting a few more features with the Library in VS11 as I thought I would be able to create folders under folders for example:
Videos->
----> Trip Clips
-----------> Erie Canal
-----------> St Johns River
-----> Birthdays
------------> Matthew
------------> Mark
------------> Luke
------------> John

A Library Clip Digest List would be handy

That would be a nice feature to have, unfortunately that has not been added to VS. It seems that they will add maybe one or two feature requests per version. So far this one has not made it.

Try going to Corel's website, submitting a request, and even posting in our Wishlist for Future Versions forum, this feature request..;)

Hello. I am brand new to VS 11+ and this forum, although not to non-linear editing.

This is exactly one of the things I really couldn't believe that was missing. I'll be sure to add it to the wish list.

I have gotten deep into the program yet, but I was wondering if I can re-name the video clips in the Library. I haven't seemed to be able to find out how to do that??? If I can't create sub-folders, I'd at least like to be able to rename them clips. Please tell me this is possible.

You can rename a library thumbnail by simply clicking on it twice (but not double-clicking).

Thanks Jeff. I'll try that when I get home.

Hi

Just to add:-
When you re-name the clips in the library, the associated file names on the hard drive remain as original, that is unchanged.

But you can change them in traditional Windows fashion, such as thru Explorer.
