I have been using VS10plus as my editor for the past year.
My computer has 528 Meg’s of RAM, a 200 Gig harddrive which is half full and the OS is Windows XP/2. In burning a 2 hour DVD this computer took about 3 hours to do it.
For the past few weeks it has suddenly jumped to 4 and ½ hours.
I am basically doing and burning the same type of material, edited TV shows.
What has happened in the interim, I don’t know but if someone does I’d appreciate some help. No other programs are running while VS10 is, its just taking longer. Would anyone have any thoughts as to why? Or is this a matter
of housekeeping and the computer should just be reloaded and cleaned up?

I agree that it is likely to be a housekeeping matter, and that you need to carry out the duties Ron suggested. But at the risk of sounding like a cracked record, I am beginning to suspect that one or more of the Windows updates iin the past couple of months may have adversely affected some of the conditions under which Video Studio work.
It has become almost a mantra with me over the past couple of months to suggest people first go to the Microsoft DirectX website and download the latest update patch. The current one is dated November 2007 and can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en
Note that it updates both DirectX 9.0c (XP) and 10 (Vista). The number of your DirectX installation will not change, but the patch gives extra functionality in a number of areas and corrects other faults in VS11 in particular which do appear linked to Windows updates. Perhaps it may also affect your burning speed. But even if it doesn't, it is still good housekeeping and won't do any harm.
