Return to menu

Post by dannyp »

Hi All
The following is the DVD menu I intend to create:

One 60min Title
12 chapters
1 main manu with 3 links to 3 sub menus
Sub menu #1 with 3 links to chapters #1-4
Sub menu #2 with 3 links to chapters #5-8
Sub menu #3 with 3 links to chapters #9-12
all menus will have links to all others
And my question is:

Is it possible to go back to the menu after each chapter?
for example:
When chapter #1 ends "go to sub menu#1 or
When chapter #6 ends "go to sub menu #2 and so on

Thank for any help
Danny
Thanks all

No, it is not possible.

The only way you can do something like this is to make each chapter a separate title, so you will have 12 titles with the playlist forcing back to menu after the title is played. The disadvantage is that, if you have a "Play all" or "Play 1,2 and 3" buttons, there will be a brief pause between "chapters".

As Devil says -- it is not possible (in DVDWS). The feature you are looking for is known as "Chapter Playlists" (the Playlists in DVDWS are Title Playlists).

If you require smooth "Playall" video, and if your video is less than about ~half the size of a DVD5 disc (assuming you are using DVD5), then you can put two versions on the disc -- the full version for a smooth Playall, and separate individual clips for the "Chapter" only selections.

There are other methods to achieve what you want, but they involve post-editing using tools such as IFOedit and PGCedit...
