All/part audio in MPEG file not compatible with this prog...

Post by aligillon »

Ulead Movie Factory 3.5
Operating System: Windows 2000
Audio Software: iTunes

I have just spent the last two days re-doing my entire slideshow onto a new pc due to ongoing technical problems with Ulead that i could not overcome on my own pc. Having complete'ly re-done the slideshow, i proceeded to 'burn to disc'. After an hour and a half of converting, during the stage 'building disc content' i recieve the following error message:

"All or part of the audio in the MPEG file is not compatible with this programme"

[14252:1:0]

I think i am going to go insane pretty soon, i just cant take anymore

Having searched endlessly through this forum for answer/s, i believe the problem may be that i imported my audio files using "iTunes". Can anyone tell me, for definate, if audio files imported in MP3 format using iTunes are not compitable with Movie Factory 3.5.

If this is the case, can someone please recommend to me an alternative (free to download) programme to iTunes that i can import my music from CD's in MP3 format that IS COMPATIBLE with Movie Factory 3.5 I just dont think i can emotionally handle anymore problems getting this dvd completed!!!!!!

If iTunes is compatible with Movie Factory 3.5 then can someone please advise what else might be causing this problem!

Regards

In theory, MP3s should be compatible. In practice, some are not. The best format is an uncompressed WAV file. (With audio/video files, the least-compressed formats are the least trouble.)

If iTunes can't do it, there are several programs that can convert your files to WAV. Audacity (FREE!!!) and GoldWave ($45 USD) are audio editing programs that can open an MP3 and save it as a WAV file. (Or, you can search the net for a simpler conversion program.)

If any of the files are downloaded AAC files from iTunes, they may be copy protected. In that case, you won't be able to copy them to a DVD. (We don't discuss how to "crack" copy protection on this forum.) If they are all MP3s, don't worry. MP3 files are never copy protected.

MF3.5 is getting on a bit now and mp3's may not be as compatible with this version as the later ones, I'd go for converting to wav and using that.
cdex is what I use and it's free and very simple to use

Can you advise me if it would be ok to convert my current iTunes MP3 files to .WAV, then go ahead and use them with MF 3.5, or should i delete all my iTunes MP3 files and start a fresh, importing using (for ex. Audicity) to .WAV

Also, can anyone advise if there is a way i can check if all of my music is incompatible, or if its just one file thats causing the problem? I have approx 10 songs on my slideshow, all imported from CD using iTunes and all imported into MP3 format.

Thanks
Ali

Could be one could be two could be all of them.......
Take them out one by one and test is the only way.
Faster to convert your existing tunes to wav and replace.
No need to start again with the music.

I have figured out that the problem is actually with the audio on my Quick Time Movie files:
