VS10

Post by mariab987 »

Hi

I am new to the forum and a real amateur with VS10 or video editing in general. I have been given this program by a friend and really wanted to know if I can use this with Vista as I have been told it will not work. I have XP at present but am upgrading shortly.

I am sure I will have lots of questions in the future.

Welcome to the forum, glad you managed to get activated eventually !!

When you upgrade to Vista you will need to install the Vista Update patch

Thanks for quick reply.

Sorry to sound so thick but can I download this patch onto my XP PC and then copy it to Vista when I am up and running or should I just wait until then.

Hi

All patches I have downloaded have been saved to the hard drive then installed.
I assume that this patch gives you the choice to save.

If you do now, there may be a new patch when you come to use it. (but I doubt it) You would have to download again. How would you know? saying that (vs 11 is out, no upgraded patches for 10 will be made, afaik)

The choice is yours, I would download now, at least you have the file, either way, no problem

My advice is to back everything up onto removable discs either CD or DVD.
Include the original installation files, patches, copies of emails and serial numbers.

Lost Serial Numbers and Software.
