Hi I am using VS11 and knew very little a while back about video editing and thanks to a few people on here I had a steep learning curve and learnt loads very quickly. For a while now I have been downloading my tapes from my old Sony video8 camcorder via passthrough and firewire through my digital DCR-PC110E camcorder which allows me to get the old analogue movies onto my PC as DV-AVI's.
I have then done as suggested on this site by some of the guys, which is to open the burn module and uncheck BURN TO DISK so that I can burn to my HD (creating the 2 folders AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS) and check the movie first before burning the DVD.
This has worked fine and I have done several of my home movies but now I need to do something new and would like some help if possible.
I have 2 short home movies and want to get them both on the same DVD with a menu at the beginning allowing me to select which one to watch, probably very easy but I am a little stumped at the moment what to do.
Normally when I do the one movie I end up using a basic menu offered by the burn module just before creating the AUDIO_TS folder and the VIDEO_TS folder but what do I do with the second movie now?
Do I make a new VIDEO_TS folder but surely I cannot have two folders of the same name, or do I put the other movie files together with the first lot, doesn't seem right?
Please can someone point me in the right direction or maybe give me a link or tell me step by step, anything appreciated, as I cannot seem to figure it out, and don't want to do it a silly way if you know the best way.
Apologies if this is basic stuff.
how do I put 2 movies on DVD with menu to select them

You have 2 separate DVD compatible MPEG-2 video files correct? Insert each one into the burn module of VS (Share>Create Disc). Each video file will be a Title in you menu, which can be selected while playing.
To clarify further, any video clip you insert to the burn module time-line are Titles in the menu. Then the Titles can be "bookmarked" with up to 99 Chapters, which is like indexing a book.
Here's a chart that Steve prepared depicting the difference between Titles and Chapters.

Heres what i did for someone who wanted subtitles and no subtitles of the same movie.
1, created the two movies (dvd compliant Mpegs, same bit rate CBR 8000)
2, open Vs 11 (to ensure empty time line)
3, Goto share, create disc
4, Click 'add video files' find movie one and click on it
5, Click 'add video files' find movie two and click on it
6, click on next
7, chapters can be added as needed to each one on the line below if needed
8, Choose menu template to suit your needs and customize as needed
9, preview with the remote and continue with next button when happy
10, i always un check create disc, check create DVD files
11, Burn files to disc
Hope this makes sense

Hi guys, thanks very much for the help.
I have done as you advised and it was totally successful but I am curious I notice the files I ended up with on the DVD look the same as if it had been one video; if in the future I wanted to copy one of the movies back on to my HD could I seperate them, would I just use VS11 to split them or something similar, as it is not obvious how you would split them purely looking at the files on the DVD?

You can save the raw video files on DVD as a DATA disc rather than a Video DVD.
Alternatively at some future date you can import the videos (with possible loss of quality) VS : Importing DVD Files
