messer stopped playing

I downloaded Messer (that was on Steve's freebe list) and it worked fine. I did not use it for the last month or so and now it wont work at all.

It starts and then just goes away. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled to no avail.

Has anyone had this problem and fixed it. If so, How?

Also, if I cannot get Messer to work on this system, is there a good alternative program?

Are you sure it isn't just minimized to the system tray?

It goes to the system tray (lower right where the time is), but as soon as i hover the mouse over it, it dissapears. Additionaly, in Procexp.exe, (task manager on steriods), it shows up for a second and then vanishes.

Very troubling to say the least.
