I have VS11+ and just added the power pack to try HD.
It looks like I cannot put Blu-ray content on a standard DVD but there is a selection to put HD-DVD on a standard DVD.
I thought I would make a short one and take it to a local Best Buy or somewhere and try it out on a HD player.
My project saved to a folder as HD (3 times bigger than DVD) and plays when loaded to the PC video player that came with VS11+ (WinDVD 8 silver).
When I try to burn it to DVD from "Create Disk" I cannot select (or see) the video files using any of the four buttons on the create disk menu. I do have the button in the lower left set to HD-DVD on DVD selected.
Any ideas why it wont let me see the files in the HD-(VIDEO-TS) folder?
(HD-TS might be spelled wrong)
Getting HD content on standard DVD

I never have figured out why I cannot use Ulead copy the HDDVD-TS files on the hard drive to build a HD DVD soooo... I went ahead and started over. I used the "create disk" and went straight to the DVD instead of going th the hard drive first and this worked. It took about 2 hours for Ulead11+ build and copy the project to the DVD for a 17 minute slide show.
I took the HD-DVD to local electronics stores and tried them out on big flat screen tvs using their HD-DVD players.
WOW!!!! The picture is Incredible!!!!! It was like being there again!
I am sold, now I have to talk the spouse into letting me buy one of those rigs...

According to previous posts on a similar topic, Windows XP cannot read the file format used on HD on DVD discs - but the disc may play in your DVD drive nonetheless.Choptop wrote:When I try to burn it to DVD from "Create Disk" I cannot select (or see) the video files using any of the four buttons on the create disk menu. I say "may" since it's not possible to see what pc you have. You might fill in the pc related info in your forum profile.
