Corel's new version releases

Post by DiscCoasterPro »

Hi all. I know software co.s typically release new versions annually. I'm curious of a few things.

Does anyone know which month DVDMF is scheduled for releasing its new vers, and does anyone know of any promised additions.

thanks,

We don't have any inside information. You'll just have to look for the press releases. Like most companies, Corel doesn't say anything until very shortly before a new release. Because when you announce an upcoming release, sales come to a halt until the new version is released. (Microsoft is an exception.)

There are forum members who are also beta testers, but they are required to sign non-disclosure agreements. (And, I assume some members are Corel employees.)

thank for the reply. Adobe releases in the fall each yr, as does Sony. I figured there was no definite date in print, but perhaps there is some type of pattern from yrs past that veteran users gauged it by. Oh well, we'll wait and see. :)

There has been a change in Policy since the recent mergers.
Ulead would appoint Beta Testers and so at least a small handful of our members would have an idea about new developments - but as DVDDoug pointed out were subject to a non-disclosure agreement.

Following the mergers Corel do not have Beta Testers.
The indications that I have as Forum Administrator about new releases is that I often get about a weeks advance warning of a new release so that I can make any preperations to the forum that might be required.
An example was Corel PhotoImpact X3 - I was able to prepare this link
Photo Impact X3 has now been released. thanks to the documentation that was sent to me via email from Corel.

I am also asked every once in a while to express an opinion about an idea or asked to offer some suggestions about a product. This is why I have created sticky posts such as
MovieFactory Wish List For future Versions
I then provide a summary of items that have been suggested by our forum members and also invite the Corel Staff to view the post in full.

It is to my knowledge that Corel are currently developing the next versions of VideoStudio and also MovieFactory.
