VCDs & SVCDs work in stand alone DVD player, but not com

Post by ecantona9 »

I have DVD MovieFactory 3.0. The VCD and SVCD I created work fine in the stand alone DVD player that I have. They will not work in the ULEAD DVD player software for InterVideo DVD software on my computer. I've tried this on computers at work, and the same thing keeps happening. The menu screen will come up and then when I try to go to chapter one of my VCD it will lock the dvd player software and I have to hit CTRL ALT DELETE to close the software. Can someone please help me?

Navigation for VCDs and SVCDs are different from DVD. To play tracks, you need to use the numbers on your remote or numbers on the software decoder's toolpad. DVD's do not have this limitation, hence the name Digital Versatile Disc.

Depending on the software your using the keypad or the numbers on your keyboard will also work. I think MS uses the row across the top. You can probably find the shortcut keys in the help section. It's just like playing a CD at least for VCD's.

I know that I can use the keypads to change the chapters thanks. What I mean is that when I put the CD in the menu comes up. As soon as I press a number and then play, the DVD software crashes, and I have to use the CTRL-ALT-DELETE combo to get out of the DVD software. It does the same thing for Window Media Player. Anyone know why?

Software Running?

Do you have any software running that might interfere with graphics?

I remember one office computer that was running "Remote Desktop Sharing", and the DVD Player would not work until we disabled the desktop sharing.

Unless Internet Security or something like that interferes I don't know what I have that would do that. Plus it happens on every computer I try the CD's on.

In case anyone was paying attention, I downloaded the patches, and burned another SVCD this time with a CD-RW and it works fine now. It plays in my stand alone DVD player and my computer DVD player. Now I need to see if it will work with a CD-R, will update later.
