MediaStudio Pro 7 VE crashes while Initialising Transition E

Post by jparnold »

I have not used MediaStudio Pro 7 VE for a few months but now when I attempt to start it I ALWAYS get "MediaStudio has encountered an error and needs to shut down"
This ALWAYS occurs when INITIALISING TRANSITION EFFECTS - PARAM EQ is displayed.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing and also uninstalled the DIVX codec I had installed just in case. The problem still occurs.
What is the problem I am experiencing and how do I fix it?
Thanks

I reverted to reformatting my hard drive and re-installing everything again as I couldn't wait any longer. The problem has gone away (as I would have expected with a rebuild).
Would be nice though to find out what caused the problem.

Sorry I haven't had my MSP7VE installed for a long time, so really could help. However If I recall, that version is based on the 7.0, and a few patches were released which made it more stable. Those however will not install to the VE version.

Thanks Ron,
It is the FIRST time I have ever encountered MS Pro crashing (unlike VS10+) and while I don't use it often (usually only to create effects not available to VS such as Moving Path) I was intrigued as to what caused the error to occur. I have probably installed a few other applications on that PC (my second PC used mainly to test new software) since I had previously used it successfully and wonder if that new applications upset something.
