Hi there.
This is my 4th day after buying this excellent tool and I'm busy compiling our 1st family DVD.
I have edit some clips which is now one project. I have saved this as a VSP file.
I have started a new project.
On the video track I have inserted V10 from the video Library. (animated film).
On the first overlay track I have inserted my VSP file.
I need to make the corners of the overlay video rounded so that it fits neatly in the video frame.
Is it possible to make the corners round and how do I do this?
Thank you very much!
Regards,
Deon

You can do this by using one of the Masked-Overlays, found in the Attribute tab, clicking on the Mask & Chroma Key button. You then need to choose from the drop-down menu (which by default is Chroma Key), Type: Mask Frame. There is a rounded rectangle mask provided. However it will not match up with the frame in that video clip.
So...
What you can do is make sure you have your overlay clip selected, then in the preview window you should see Yellow and Green handles. The Green Handles only appear on the 4 corners, while the Yellow Handles appear in the middle of the top and bottom edges.
Drag the green handles to each corner of the Film frame. What the green handles do, is allow distortion of the video or images. I would resize/distort your clip so that it is slightly larger then the frame size of the Film frame... Make sense?
The Yellow handles are for resizing, the Green for distorting.

Just out of curiosity, why did you start a new project and insert your previous vsp into it? Seems to me the effect you are going for could have been achieved by using the overlay track. Sounds like you are taking an unnecessary extra step.

I am learning to use VS and at present I think I do a whole lot of unnecessary steps. It took my this whole day to create one DVD With 5 chapters.![]()
I trust I will get it done sooner with more practice.
Thanx again!
