MF 6 - can't access Step 3/3 to burn the compiled DVD
Hello
I'm using Ulead DVD Movie Factory 6 but it doesn't let me access the page with Step 3/3. Step 1 = Select Source and Import / Step2 = Select template to create menu but when i press next on that page nothing happens.
Anyone know that error and know why this happens?
thanks in advance.

Do you have Roxio Easy Media Creator Suite, or Nero's InCD installed? These may have installed a nasty Packet Writing utility, that tend to hi-jack DVD burners, not allowing other programs like VS to have access.
With Roxio's EMCS, you can internally disable this "drag-n'-drop" utility, however with Nero's InCD you will need to un-install it through the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs.

I think that even with Roxio or Nero InCd installed you should at least reach page 3 where you could select burn to a hard drive folder, the packet writing programs can and do as Ron (Vidoman) said hijack you DVD Writer and prevent it from being used.
I think you need to let us know some information about the origin of your source files, formats, bit rates, audio and so on.

i don't have any Roxio Software installed. I do have Nero 7 but InCD wasn't installed (i've checked this again).
I've tried it with several PAL video files:
MPEG-2
Audio: Dolby Digital 2 Channel - 256 KBit/s
Video 704 x 576 - ~2 Mbit/s
recorded with HD DVD recorder > DVD > ripped w. TMPGEnc 3.0XPress > mpg
MPEG-2
Audio: MPEG Main 2 Channel - 384 KBit/s
Video 720 x 576 - ~ 2,50 Mbit/s
recorded with Hauppauge WinTV PVR-350 TV card
MPEG-2
Audio: Dolby Digital 2 Channel - 256 KBit/s
Video 720 x 576 - ~4 Mbit/s
recorded with HD DVD recorder > DVD > ripped w. TMPGEnc 3.0XPress > mpg
MPEG-2
Audio: Dolby Digital 2 Channel - 256 KBit/s
Video 720 x 576 - ~6,5 Mbit/s
recorded with HD DVD recorder > DVD > ripped w. TMPGEnc 3.0XPress > mpg
MPEG 4 - MOV
Audio: Mono 16000 khz
Video:: 640 x 480 1.67 MBit/s
recorded with Kodak Photo Camera
each time the same bad result, page 3 won't open. I've had that problem with MF 5 too after it was running well for several months. Uninstalled it then and reinstalled MF2 which worked (and at the moment still works) fine here. Can't remember when this problem started, can't remember if i installed something and then it didn't worked anymore ...

At this point I would try a re-installation of MovieFactory.
Most persons having this problem with not being able to goto Step3 is one of the settings, maybe under preferences (working or temp directories) may be pointing to a removal media drive letter.
So if using any external drives discconnect them, reboot and make sure all MF settings are using your local harddisks.

MF 6 - can't access Step 3/3 to burn the compiled DVD
Hi, I'm in same situation. In MF6 TBYB, there was no problem, so I decided to buy a fullversion. And there we are, same problem: MF 6 - can't access Step 3/3 to burn the compiled DVD.
My OS: Windows Vista Home Premium + all updates installed.
Need help to get this to work.
TY.

I don't know, maybe this one.
The Directx 9.0C I installed was for XP & Vista (both).
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en
Note that this one says November 2007 but dated 3/8/08.

I have making changes in Windows protection settings, allowed DVDMF.exe to run, without no result.
I'm sure there is something wrong with Windows Vista compatibility.
I tested DMF6+, on my server, OS= XP Professional, and there is no problem.
But I want to use my server only as a server, so I still need some help.
TY.
