WinDVD 9 Plus for Blu-Ray and HD. When?

Post by hendra »

Check out this Corel Japanese website. They have WinDVD 9 Plus that has just been released on December 25, 2007.
http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 9528392361
It will play both Blu-Ray and HD DVD and it has wider video card support than the current WinDVD 8 BD/HD version.

It's in Japanese. Use babelfish.altavista.com for the translation.

When are we going to see the English version of WinDVD 9 Plus?

Depends on where your located, obviously we can rule out Japan..;)

They released PI-X3 in Japan about 3 months ago, and rumor has it that it will be released within the next few days or weeks, here (US). So if that is there schedule, I would guess you will have to wait until March or April.

I live in the US. Why does the Japanese version have to come first? Intervideo and Corel are US companies.

Why???

I don't know, maybe because the sun rises there first..:)

Actually Ulead which Intervideo and now Corel gobbled up, originated in Taiwan. I'm not real sure where Intervideo started out.

The US/Canada are not the last countries to get version releases. We are really quite fortunate. There are some countries that are about 3 versions behind.

i cant wait for windvd9 i wish i spoke japanese then i would buy it right now! There is so many new and cool features this time why do we have to wait months?!damn....
I prefer windvd much more then any other player software but im forced to use PowerDVD7.3 right now cause at least it supports BD and HD DVD,my windvd8 platinum doesnt.I didnt find any update for it for supporting both formats BD and HD DVD and im worried because i have an ATI 3870 video card in my system and ive heard ATI cards are also not supported but only nvidia.
Can anybody provide a solution i really dont wanna use PowerDVD anymore i miss the trimension playback the most.

Amazon removed the link. What the hell :!:

Does it mean that WinDVD 9 won't be released on Feb 22?
