HELP with Burning DVD

Post by ktkeldy »

I have a problem with my CD & DVD Pictureshow 4. The problem is that it won't burn to dvd. I have called the customer service 4 times. They can no longer help me. I have disabled everything that I can think of and it still won't burn. I have an HP a819n computer with a cd/dvd burner. With lightscribe. I have the version of Sonic RecordNow that came with the computer and other than that I am not aware of any other recording software. I have downloaded every patch and also updated my driver. I am not sure what else to do so if someone could help me that would be terrific. Thank you for your time.

Hi Tish, welcome to the forum!

This might be redundant as I don't know specifically what procedures customer service has had you try. As a starting point, I'll assume you're attempting to burn your DVD through PictureShow's integrated "Record To Disc" selection on the "Step 3" tab. It would be difficult to speculate on why this isn't working as there are a myriad of possibilities related to system configuration, conflicts, file corruption, etc.

My suggestion would be to output your show as "DVD Folders" (this creates a "VIDEO_TS" folder and file set) and/or "Disc Image File" (this creates an "ISO" file) versus "Record To Disc". These output options are available on the "Step 3" tab. Once you have successfully output your show, try burning your DVD using a 3rd party burning application. I'm not overly familiar with "RecordNow" but it may have the capability to do this. If not, you might try a freeware application such as BurningStudio 6.5 which can be downloaded here:

ftp://asburn65:studio@ftp.vnudownloads. ... vnu_gb.exe

Basically, the procedure is this. Output your show as an "ISO image file" or as "DVD Folders". Next, open your 3rd party burning application and navigate to the file you created. From there, follow the applications instructions for burning your DVD.

If this isn't helpful, I'd suggest that you provide us with a detailed description of what happens when you attempt to burn, i.e; do you get an error message, does the software freeze, etc...

Good luck,
-Mike
