One of my problems is that I have never used either of the Wizards, or for that matter, a trial version of VS. So I cannot answer based on personal experience. I do know that others in the past have complained about the fact that with the trial version, there only seemed to be one template using one of the wizards and it was inappropriate to their needs.

The trial version certainly has more than one template in it, but they appear only to be accessible if you use the full Editor aspect of VS, and not the wizards. And of course, in the full version, you get quite a few templates, some of which are extremely editable or at least configurable.

Well unfortunately I dont have any templates showing up.

I will be using this type of function a lot so I need flexiblity. Is there a Ulead program that would allow me to create my own DVD play menu's etc? I am sure there is.

Hi frankc.

I was running from the trial and could also not get the templates to work from the wizard, except for the images one, which had one template.

I have bought 11+ and installed all the accompanying files and now all templates are there.

It looks that there are no video templates available in the trial version. Maybe someone from Ulead can confirm this.

Good luck.

I went from trial to full. Like you I did not have any templates, but for some reason I thought I did have. So now I am unsure if I had and then lost them or never had them. It still means thought that at the moment I dont have any templates or now how to get/create some. Sounds like I need those 'accompanying files'.

Yes, you DO need those accompanying files. The templates, it seems to me, are nicely tucked away in one of those files.

I did not realise that I had to install the other two files also for the templates to work. Fortunately, everything is now 100% OK.

Now I will shoot with all my questions and start using VS.

There are some nice tutorials here: http://takeoneflix.com/tutorial-index/

Good luck!

For a comprehensive listing of what templates are available in VS11 Plus please view VS11+ Preview - since writing that post VideoStudio has been upgraded to VS11.5+ and contains even more material.
