first let me say hello and I hope someone here can help me. I'm running the Blu-ray version of WinDVD and for 95% of the time its great. However for several of my newer movies {Sunshine, and Resident Evil}
i get a MFC application error when trying to start them. The only differance I can see with them is that they are profile 1.1 movies. Does anyone here know of a fix for this I havent been able to find any real info on it. Thanks for the help and my specs are listed below.
BFG 680i motherboard
Intel E6400 clocked at 3.0Ghz
4 Gig of RAM
Vista 64bit Home Premium
EVGA 8800 GT video
WinDVD BD problems
Moderator: lata
I have had problems with the last 3 BD I purchased:
1.Pirates of the Caribbean: The play option on the main menu sends it to an infinite loop and there is an annoying red line at the bottom of screen during playback
2.Underdog: There is no option to play on main menu and the play button on Windvd does not work either. So I can¡¦t play it at all
3.Resident Evil: Its just crashes with a MFC error you describe below.
My system meets the requirements and passes the pretest from Coreal:
I¡¦m running Vista 32 Ultimate and the hw passed the pretest from windvd
I am using the pioneer bd player are you?

I am having the same problem, I wanted to play commercial Blu-rays on my PC. I only have one that I bought "Sunshine". I purchased, downloaded the WINDVD HD/BDand all I can get is the MFC error. I even picked up an EVGA 8600HTS but it still crashes to MFC error. My computer shows compliant on their checker, all parts are HDCP compliant.
Like the others I have PowerDVD and they will play using this. But I upgraded the windvd silver to Ultra hd/bdfor 69 bucks and I would like it to work.
Has anybody out there gotten WIN DVD to play these Blu-ray movies yet?

What version?
As I read the description, WinDVD8 Platnum will not play BR or HD disks, but will play the files - so I guess you need AnyDVD and rip the disks to the hard drive.
Do you have some other version (new V9?) that will play the BR/HD disks?
