Nothing starts with DVD MovieFactory

Post by bob733 »

I downloaded the try buy version and loaded same. However when I click on the ICON, nothing starts. The screen goes away for a few seconds and then comes back to the original screen (the Launcher). I saw one thread that said to kill the process but than did not help.

Advise please>

Possibly it is a Windows User Permissions problem.
Right click the quick start icon and select properties, Advanced, Run As
then run it as an Administrator.

no, that did not work (running as admin). In fact, it didnt even show up but once or twice on Proceess explorer (task manager on steroids).

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it to no avail.

Other video editing & playback software can conflict with MF.
Such as the Fix All codec packs or universal codec packs.

I have to use the work-around of killing the Ulead process to get things going again.
I requested support from Ulead re this problem. Was advised to do a clean reinstall. That made no difference. (I have all patches/updates.
Support closed the question & suggested I phone them. Well I don't fancy paying ¢G10 on this, when I can get around the problem. It's a drag though that need to.
I'd be interested to know what might be on my system causing a possible conflict.
Is there any comprehensive list of software that is known to cause a conflict ?

System info:
Windows XP SP2 Home
1.25GB of RAM
60GB free disk space
Nvidia GEFORCE4 MX 440 V.93.71
