I have recently purchased from Ulead MovieFactory 6 Plus and the HD Power Pack. I downloaded the files as instructed.
I removed the tryout version of MovieFactory and intalled the full MovieFactory 6 Plus.
When I tried to install the HD Power Pack I get the message
"Setup cannot find the Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 installed on your system."
Moviefactory 6 Plus seems to be working fine.
I have tried a full manual uninstall as given in your knowledge base but this did not help. I also tried the Hotfix.
Please can you help

Please answer the following:
1. When you installed MovieFactory was it from a purchased CD or from a Downloaded Installation file.
2, Did you stick to the default installation path offered by the installation program. Whilst installing it somewhere else shouldn't be a problem I have always had my reservations about that.
The Default installation should create a shortcut icon with the following link
"C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6\DMFLauncher.exe"
3. Before attempting to install the HD pack did MovieFactory open/run.
4. Regarding your attempt to correct the problem by using the Hot Fix,
Did you do the following:

Fixed
Corel Techical Support sent me a copy of the registry for MF6 and I managed to load this and all was ok.
The main problem was that HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Ulead
Systems only had Ulead CD/DVD Writing Engine in it. I had discovered in
my manual uninstalls that the Ulead Systems folder had no permissions
set on it, so I had to set the permissions before I could delete it. I
also had to do this in order to install your registry file. So it looks
as though the Ulead Systems permissions are not being set when Ulead
CD/DVD Writing Engine is installed.

Re: HD Power pack cannot find installed movieFactory 6
I have exactly the same problem, but I'm unsure how you solved it.
My MF6 installation is in the normal C:Program Files location. I've checked the registry, and there is all the Ulead software listed not just the 'engine'. I have also tried running the HD power pack installer as administrator, but with no success.
Please can anyone help as I'm sure we can't be the only ones with this problem?
