Saving files to the subfolders of the library

Post by babybowen »

This has to be easy, but...

I have been able to use the basic library folders like video, audio; and it is easy to create sub-folders for various projects. But I have never been able to figure out how to save files into the subfolders I have created! It's driving me crazy. It has to be trivial, but I haven't found it in the manual yet, and expeimenting does not seem to succeed.

If you can enlighten me on this ponit, I will appreciate it greatly!

You have to select the folder before importing or saving a file otherwise it will default to the first folder. This has been a long standing complaint by various users and is already in the wish list for improvements.

You can move the items by selecting them all and then right clicking "Copy". Go to the intended folder and right click "Paste"
Then you have to go back to the first folder and delete them.

This is also a pain because with any other windows program you would cut and paste rather than copy - paste - delete.

Thanks a lot! I NEVER would have guessed that procedure, though it's easy enough now that I got in touch with the right person!
