Upside down video

Post by Ken Berry »

I have received the following as an email:
Dear Ken Berry,
I downloaded the free trial of VideoStudio because I needed to make a film for school.

When I insert videos in Ulead they are shown upside down. And I can¡¦t solve this problem, when I use the buttons of 90¢X turns it still stands in mirror reflection. This wasn¡¦t a problem before, It just happened recently.

Please help me solve this problem.

Friendly greetings

Thierry Vincken from Belgium
I have pointed out to the sender Board policy that Moderators and Senior Members not answer private messages sent this way. Posting on the Board will in any case likely attract more responses and help others with similar problems.

Moreover, in this case, while I recall about 3 other users over the past 5 or 6 years reporting a similar problem, I cannot personally recall what the answer might have been.

Hopefully others might recall... :?: :?: :?:

I have now done a Search and have found the following threads which contain possible answers:

http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 4112#84112 (Stefan Burger's free FX Bench contains a vertical flip filter)

http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 8798#48798 (inversion possibly caused by installation of DivX bundle)

http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... 0654#30654 (upload latest graphics card drivers and update DirectX from Microsoft site [note that the latest update is dated November 2007 and it works with both XP and Vista. It will not change existing DirectX version numbers, but will definitely add new fixes])

I also recall that problem coming up in the past. I think the solutions were to either stand on your head or turn the TV upside down.

Forgive my ignorance here.....

Can an overlay clip be rotated five degrees? I looked through the video filters and didn't see one that would do it, nor is there an option in the attributes.

I did a search (rotate overlay) and found this thread, although I didn't go through all 900 of the search results. Thanks.

You can distort the clip by grabbing and moving the green handles (the yellow handles resize it). Depending on what you are looking to do this might work for you.
