How can ulead open my disk image file?

Post by daddog »

Simple question.

How can I (while in Ulead) open a disk image file so I don't have to create the project all over again?

I can find the disk image in the VS 11 folder in the disk image folder, but it is in a RAR format. I can't just double click on it and have Ulead open it.

Thanks in advance. :)

The image file is not meant to be opened. You use it for burning your dvd.

So in the burning module you choose burn disc image and navigate to the image and then burn it to dvd.

Hi

You could use Win-Rar to open the compressed/zipped file. (download the trial version)
The iso should contain a TS folder, the Vob files being opened in VS
OR
Burn the Iso to a disc and use VS to import the disc content.

Thanks for the quick replies. :)

How do I get to the "burning module"?
For example when I open VS11 I go to:
Share tab
create disk
Then in the add media window I can't go "next" till I start adding files again. I want to go to the last step where you burn the DVD, but can't until I create it all over again.

Hope that makes sense. :)

Hi

I do not own VS 11 but using earlier versions:-

The disc image recorder can be found from your Start Menu¡XAll programs¡XUlead Vcd Dvd Image Recorder

Use this to burn a disc of your Iso file ( using a Dvd-Rw will save you a disc.

Then import the disc files to VS

It seems to be a long winded way but if you have lost your project and mpegs then burning the iso seems the next step.

Hi Trevor,

Going that way my only options in VS11 are:

Read me.
Sample Project
VS11
User Manual

I have looked over the manual but it just says how to make a disk image (which I have done) but it does not explain how to then access the disk image and start burning them again. :?

VCD/DVD Disc Image Recorder setup file is located in a folder called Ulead Disc Image Recorder, within one of the other download links (uvs11_plus_contentpack_(e).exe) or (uvs11_bonuscd_(e).exe) you received when you purchased the program, or one of the other discs. It is not installed unless you specifically go to the setup file on the disc.

Did you not save the download to a disc or the hard drive?
It's a must do operation and a lesson hopefully learnt.
