Some of my video clips are playing very jumpy.
The video clips are created using VS10, I have never had this problem before.
I can view the video clips on media player fine and in VS10 but as soon as I try to work with them DVDWS2 then the clips are very very jumpy/almost slow motion.
I have tried to uninstall then reinstall DVDWS2.
I hope it is something simple I may have done can anyone help.
My DVD workshop 2 was working fine then I never used for about 4 months.
My operating system is XP Pro.
Video preview jumpy

Tell us more a) the project settings in VS10, b) the settings used to render the VS10 file and c) the project settings in WS2. Also, at what stage are in WS2 are you seeing the problem?

Sorry, but not in the least. What bitrates are you using? We need to know EXACTLY what you are doing from start to finish at ALL stages. Also, if you are using excessive bitrates, you may not have sufficient resources. Please volunteer all the info you can as I don't like having to extract it from you more painfully than drawing teeth. We cannot guess what you are doing.

You only have 512mb memory, this isn't good for previewing back mpeg files.
You have 2 x 60gb hdd's, are these full, nearly full, empty? Windows needs at least 10% free space just to work.
Is the OS on one drive and all your video files on the other?
Have you tried emptying the drive and defragmenting?

It may be that we can help you, but you have to help us first by answering our questions. What you are saying is that you wake up with a headache one day and you say that is not reasonable because you didn't have a headache three months ago. We have no idea whether it is because you have a hangover, excessive blood pressure or a brain tumour.

In which case the answer is easy, unistall the wintv update. Sorted.SPJ29 wrote:Everyone seems to be looking for a major problem.
I have had DVDWS2 working FINE for a long time then I did not use it for months and this has started happening.
The only thing that has changed on the PC is that I updated my WinTV PVR250 capture card software.

It's probably a corrupt MPEG, possibly corrupted by Video Studio. The video clips are created using VS10... I updated my WinTV PVR250 capture card software.

AVI/DV (13GB per hour) is no problem for Video Studio, but the more compressed the format, the more likely you are to have trouble... The people who work with formats like DivX/MPEG-4/WMA tend to have lots of trouble! This is generally true with any video software unless it's designed for the particular format.
Your capture card is MPEG-only, so you are stuck with MPEGs. I also have a PVR250, and I've had several different problems with MPEG files that I edited with Video Studio. Unedited files from the PVR250 never caused me any trouble. My solution was to switch to Womble (~$100 USD) for MPEG editing. No more "weird problems"!
I didn't have trouble every time, but the most common problem for me was "lip sync" errors. Occasionally, I had trouble setting the chapter-points in Workshop, and sometimes Workshop would crash! In every case the MPEG file would play OK, but it would cause trouble when I tried to make a DVD from it. (I call it "sneaky corruption".)
Both Womble and VideoReDo (~$50 USD) have tools that can repair some corrupterd MPEGs. Another option is to re-encode the MPEG with Womble or SUPER (FREE!!!). However, since MPEG is lossy compression re-coding should be a last resort.
I can't explain that. It didn't happen to me every time, but it did happen rather frequently. Perhaps you are doing more editing or different kinds of editing with this particular project.I have never had this problem before.
I can't explain that either. I've never actually tried the supplied clips. Some other people have reported problems with supplied clips, but I don't recall which Corel/Ulead program those problems related to.The problem happens with the sample videos supplied and my own edited videos.

Thank you for everyones input, I think I discovered the problem.
The problem is when I use the batch convert feature on VS10 the mpeg files become corrupted but when I convert the files individually they are fine.(a bit annoying though).
I know this forum is for DVDWS but to save starting a new thread in the VS forum does anyone know if there is a patch that will fix the problem or would I be better buying VS11.5 as I assume the batch convert will be better.
