All,
I am using an SD-1 and saving all my videos to the hard drive using the Panasonic software. I archived all these files (the entire folders using Roxio) to DVD data.
When I try to open these files from DVD with ULEAD (import from DVD/DVD-VR->import DVD Folder-> get file from DVD) I get an "unspecified error."
Now if I take these same DVD folders and save them back to a different place on my hard drive I can again open them just fine in Ulead.
Am I missing something?
Also, is there a better way to archive this stuff so I am not burning through drive space on my laptop?
Can't load files archived to DVD?

The Import from DVD feature of Video Studio presupposes that you are importing from a *video* DVD and not a data DVD. In fact, I would have thought that with the DVD in the optical drive, you should be able to just use the ordinary Insert Media command and navigate to the DVD drive and simply point it at the file or files you want inserted. However, a better idea is the one you are already following and actually transferring the files from the DVD to a folder on your hard disk. That way, they are permanently there so that VS can "see" them. If you leave them on the DVD, then when you take the disc out of the drive, VS will no longer be able to see the files, and your project will in effect collapse.
