Problem with Create Disc Process

Post by zammit »

Greetings.

Could you please help me with a problem which I have been unsuccessful in resolving in VideoStudio 11+. When opening the "Create Disc" dialog box, the project thumbnail appears but you can't do anything with it - ie: Nothing appears in the top right box, Jog slider and play buttons are greyed out etc. If I continue to the burn process, an error appears and aborts the process. It's as if the MPEG or AVI did not load properly.

The problem also occurs when any other video file is loaded into the Create Disc screen.

I have installed the 11.5 update as well as the UVS11_Patch_Eng.exe file. Do you please have any suggestions as I have spent hours now trying to get the Create Disc function to work?

regards

Dave

Are you going from your project in the timeline to Create Disc? That sometimes causes problems. We recommend that you first go to Share>Create Video File to create a DVD-compatible MPEG-2 file. Then you clear the timeline and then go to Share>Create Disc, will you use Add Media Files to insert your newly created MPEG-2 file to the burning module.

In addition to the patch and Power Pack, you also need to go to the Microsoft DirectX website and download/install the latest update for that. It will work with Vista (DirectX 10) as well as XP (DirectX version 9.0c) and usually corrects problems people have with the preview part of the burning process in VS11/11.5...

Thanks for the fast reply. Dowloading & installing the latest version of DirectX (9.0c) fixed the problem.

Problem creating disc

Post by rhondadboyd »

I am using video studio 11. I have completed my project and I am having trouble burning a disc. I have tried to convert my project to a dvd mpeg2. I was successful in converting and burning a much smaller trial project. The test worked perfectly. When I try to convert my full sized project to mpeg2 I get the error message unable to load library about half way through. Please someone give me some suggestions. Thanks!

Rhondadboyd, welcome to the forums,

This error can be generated from a number of causes. One of the more recent associated with VS11 is with DirectX. Go HERE and download the latest MS Direct-X drivers. The most current is dated Nov. '07.
